Maintenance Manager
Client Overview: Our client is a global industrial manufacturer with operations in North America. The company is committed to technical excellence, safe operations, and continuous improvement. To support facility reliability and production uptime at their U.S. site, they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager.
Mission: The Maintenance Manager will lead and optimize all maintenance activities within the Production Unit to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and achievement of production targets in quality, quantity, and timing. Oversee internal teams and external contractors, manage the maintenance budget, and drive a proactive maintenance strategy. Partner with Engineering on new installations and capital projects while ensuring full compliance with safety, food quality, environmental standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Budget & Cost Management
Manage the full lifecycle of the maintenance budget (forecasting, monitoring, variance analysis)
Control overhead, spare parts, and contractor costs
Support production planning with relevant maintenance data
- Production Equipment Reliability
Ensure all production and packaging equipment operates at optimal performance
Guarantee adherence to production schedules, efficiency targets, and quality standards
- Maintenance Strategy & Execution
Develop and lead a comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance program
Oversee routine maintenance activities across machinery and facilities
Coordinate internal technicians and external service providers
Drive continuous improvement in maintenance KPIs
- Spare Parts & Inventory Control
Oversee spare parts inventory and compliance standards
Ensure proper disposal of obsolete equipment
Monitor KPIs to improve service levels and cost efficiency
Collaborate with Purchasing on supplier management and expediting
- Capital Projects & Investments
Partner with Engineering on new construction, line modifications, and new production installations
Support project documentation, cost estimation, and approval processes
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and environmental standards
Coordinate accident investigations and corrective actions
Maintain safe working conditions and proper regulatory inspections
- Team Leadership & Development
Lead and coordinate maintenance personnel
Develop training and development plans
Optimize team performance and promote continuous improvement
Required Knowledge & Expertise
Education: Bachelors degree required in engineering discipline
Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing methodologies, Continuous Improvement frameworks, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) implementation`
Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and product technology
Deep knowledge of industrial machinery, production equipment, and maintenance systems
Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Knowledge of facilities and utilities management
Solid understanding of business and management principles including budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation
Experience with capital project management and equipment installations
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, Food Safety standards (GMP), and environmental compliance
Budget control and cost management expertise
