Client Overview: Our client is a global manufacturing organization with operations across North America and Europe. The company is seeking a hands-on HR professional to support its West Chester, Ohio facility and partner closely with local leadership and international HR stakeholders.
Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: West Chester, Ohio
Mission: The HR Generalist will serve as the primary Human Resources point of contact for the facility and manage the full employee lifecycle. This position is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training and development, performance management, and employee engagement. The HR Generalist will work closely with senior leadership in North America and Europe to align HR programs and practices with the company’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary HR representative for the facility, providing guidance to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Manage workforce planning, recruitment, selection, and restructuring activities to support current and future staffing needs.
Coordinate and facilitate new-hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a positive and successful employee experience.
Manage employee relations matters, address workplace concerns, support conflict resolution, and promote a positive working environment.
Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure ongoing organizational compliance.
Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
Coordinate employee training and development programs that support career progression, succession planning, and workforce development.
Support the performance management process and advise managers on employee development, feedback, and performance improvement strategies.
Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, HR documentation, and reporting.
Utilize HRIS platforms to track employee data, prepare reports, and support workforce analytics.
Develop and coordinate employee engagement initiatives that recognize achievements, reinforce company culture, and support employee retention.
Conduct exit interviews, identify turnover trends, and recommend opportunities to improve the employee experience.
Serve as the internal point of contact for payroll and benefits questions while partnering with external providers responsible for administration.
Participate in HR committees, organizational initiatives, and special projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong experience in employee relations, recruitment, compliance, training, and employee development.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
Foundational knowledge of payroll and employee benefits processes.
Experience using Paycor or a comparable HRIS platform is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Experience supporting organizational change and encouraging collaboration across teams.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
HR certification, such as PHR or SHRM-CP, is preferred but not required.
