Client Overview: Our client is a multinational company in the industrial distribution market. In order to support their business, we have been hired to recruit the NATIONAL SALES MANAGER.
Job title: National Sales Manager
Mission: The National Sales Manager is responsible to stimulate market share growth of their brands within the United States, implement measures for the creation, as may be needed, and the professional growth of the United States sales team, act as an ambassador for our client with customers and other stakeholders. The National Sales Manager will assist with the development of the United States strategic plan and take the lead in the implementation of the growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales budget objectives
- Develop a strategy for stable growth of market share within the USA
- Ensure effective and productive management of sales & territory development activities.
- Ensure promotion of current products as well as the introduction of future products
- Build a system to provide accurate sales forecasting to help Supply Chain build the proper stock to sustain the business
- Regularly produce proper commercial reporting and market analysis
- Build a high-performing sales team by providing strong mentorship, coaching, and guidance.
- Develop strong and collaborative relationships with all internal stakeholders.
Sales & Marketing
- Perform market research and identify new potential customers and new market
opportunities. - Identify and acquire new customers that fit the long term strategy
- Build strong relationships with key accounts.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure the smooth delivery of products & services.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements.
- Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs.
- Liaise with Marketing to ensure brand consistency.
- Stay up to date with new product launches, ensuring sales team members are on board to provide proper support
- Analyze market trends, benchmark competitors’ activities, and formulate strategies
to respond. - Cooperate with top management in the definition of sales strategies and targets.
- Developing long-term relationships with existing clients, by interpreting, managing,
and satisfying their requirements - Take responsibility for credit management of assigned customers in compliance with existing group procedures.
- Monitoring the customers’ product range development and assuring the company
presence across clients distributing product range - Prepare and report case histories of successful product applications/placement.
Customer Support
- Provide pre and post sales technical assistance and product range education.
- Develop the team to answer technical questions, advising customers on how best to use the products.
- Making technical and Sales presentations to clients, demonstrating how products can assist growth in their business.
- Assisting clients with product selection
- Support quality claim management in dealing with customers’ complaints.
- Providing information and targets for the design of custom-made products
- Maintaining through formal and informal personal training appropriate product knowledge
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, engineering or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in Sales and leading a Sales Team
- Travel - 40%.
- Knowledge of the industrial distribution market
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
- CRM and ERP experience
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health & Safety and
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated sales leadership.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work with, motivate, and build teams; lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
- Customer-centric sales perspective
- Coaching and effective feedback skills
- Strong commercial selling and negotiating skills.
