Client Overview: Our client is a multinational company providing integrated solutions for the automation with commercial, residential and industrial applications.
Job title: Operations Director
Mission: The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing all operations functions of two manufacturing facilities. This includes leadership and execution in manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, and production planning. The role is integral to driving operational excellence, enhancing local sourcing strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a performance-driven and safety-conscious work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with corporate goals and improve profitability and competitiveness.
- Drive best-in-class housekeeping, safety, and operational efficiency across both plants.
- Lead a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Proactively reduce injury rates and mitigate operational risks.
- Develop, manage, and report operating budgets.
- Lead the annual capital planning process.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and reduce dependency on overseas suppliers.
- Supervise and support 35–45 staff across both sites.
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable direct reports including managers and supervisors in operations, production, purchasing, and logistics.
- Foster an engaged, high-performance team culture.
- Lead sourcing initiatives to localize procurement and reduce lead times and costs.
- Manage vendor relationships and pursue multi-plant efficiencies.
- Partner with internal departments to align site operations with broader organizational goals.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with the General Manager on risks and challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing; multi-plant management preferred.
- Industry experience in smart technology or similar technical manufacturing preferred.
- Strong operational knowledge and process improvement expertise.
- Leadership in safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational culture.
- Proven success in cost control, vendor negotiations, and strategic sourcing.
- Excellent data analysis, metrics development, and reporting skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication capabilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Lean mindset: in collaboration with group LSO (Lean strategic office) implement 5S, A3 workshops and monitor Global KPI’s.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Periodic travel is required between the plants as well as any other travel that may be required.
