Senior Quality Engineer

Client Overview: Our client is a global business expanding their operations here in the US. Known for their plastic injections services and solutions, they are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to assist in their continued business growth.
Job title: Senior Quality Engineer
Mission: As the Group scale their US operations, the company in the US is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer who embodies a "founder's mentality." The position will be a key bridge between their global engineering standards and the US automotive market requirements. This role requires extreme flexibility and proactive initiative; the role will be instrumental in setting up quality processes from scratch while ensuring alignment with their global HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
Startup Leadership: Establish and refine quality protocols for the new US facility, adapting global standards from the global HQ to meet local IATF 16949 and OEM requirements.
Technical Validation: Oversee the validation of new molds and resins, managing the PPAP process and ensuring seamless product launches.
Cross-Continental Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Italian headquarters to share best practices and technical data.
Hands-on Problem Solving: Manage the metrology lab, lead 8D investigations, and troubleshoot production issues directly on the floor.
KPI & Performance: Drive the site toward excellence by monitoring scrap rates and quality metrics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: 5+ years in Automotive Quality Engineering, specifically in Plastic Injection Molding.
Adaptability: Proven ability to work in a "startup" mode—wearing multiple hats and taking full ownership of projects.
Communication: Excellent English skills; any knowledge of Italian is a plus but not required.
Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of APQP, FMEA, and Scientific Moulding principles.
Other information: Candidate must show proof of US citizenship/visa/alien registration. No sponsorship will be offered for this role.
